Camber Concerns

The negative camber is wearing out my tires at an alarming rate. So, I purchased a camber kit, but when I took it to the shop they told me they could not put it on, because the car was lowered. Now, I didn't lower the car myself; it came that way.

Is this true, or were they just full of it? What's the difference between a camber kit and camber plates? And will regular alignments eliminate the tire wear problem?

When the car is lowered that is when you need the camber kit the most! Maybe the kit is not capable of compensating for the lowering springs and you need a different kit? I would do like Kirby said and check with the manufacturer of the kit.

Assuming it was lowered just by installing sport springs, I see no reason that an Eibach kit would be a problem. That's what it is designed for.

Ask them to explain WHY it won't work. Or take it to someone else.

The camber kit you have is for the rear, and will fix the rear camber. Camber/caster plates are used on the front at the top of the strut tower.
