I am in the process of changing the timing belt on my 86 325es. I have everything off and am ready to remove the new belt. T
he question I have is should I replace the camshaft seal while I'm in there. I can't tell if is leaking or not, more than likely it is as the timing belt had not been replaced since 1999.
I must say that so far this maintenance has caused some pucker factor and removing the pulley to get to the seal has me a bit worried.
Is it worth it or not? If I don't replace the seal will I just have a minor leak or will it eventually develop into enought of a leak to have to be replaced?
