Car Starts Shaking while crusing 75mph on the Freeway.

Ok. guys, was going about 75mph when the car started shaking. I tought it was the tires and stopped. After inspection, I found nothing on the tires. I drove off. After about 7miles, it started again. As i was slowing down, the shaking got worse. (whole steering wheel and dash was vibrating or shaking) I stopped and then put the car in Neutral and the shaking stopped. (My drive shaft is going bad for about 6 months now.) I drove off again till i got home. It didn't happen again.
What could be this problem? Drive shaft? Oil? What? Please help!!!!!

well if you were slowing down, that means you had your foot off the gas, so i assume it isnt engine mounts. it might just be something loose, especially since you mentioned it comes and goes...probably the drive shaft, or something to do with the tranny.

go get your wheels balanced if you haven't done so already. in my old buick, the car would go nuts at lil over 70, then stabilize after 80. after i got the wheels balanced, problem disappeared like magic.

if you don't want to get it balanced, at least check the tire pressure, to make sure they are even and factory spec.
