The catalytic converter is located underneath the car. When BMW built this they tied it in with the front pipe. The catalytic converter system actually starts at the headers and goes all the way back to where the muffler connects. Inorder to remove it you'll need to take out the oxygen sensor and maybe drop a cross brace down.
