Anyone know why my car keeps telling me my coolant is low and to read my owners manual on the lower display panel? I put some antifreeze in the first time and the caution went away but its back and the level hasn't changed.
Your Coolant Level Sensor is definetly bad. I'am familier with this problem. The collant sensor is coroded inside and the contact wires are barely touching. So sometimes its ok but sometimes it shows you on the Computer. You have to replace the collant level sensor. Its around $20. And you can do it yourself if you have some experience with fixing cars.
When you replace it, be shure to check your temperature gage because there will be overheating if you are missing only a lil bit of collant. You will have to start the car a check constantly and refill about 3 to 5 times in small amout. Because every time the thermostat opens it takes a few onces of the collant.
Thanks, your probably all right, I was thinking the same thing but I wanted experienced opinions. I'll get it replaced after it arrives stateside. BMW Japan charges about double the price for repairs.
