I'm trying to replace my car with clear lights. I can't seem to find what kind of chrome amber bulbs in need to use for the tail, corner, and side lights. Anybody got any idea? Thanks.

I gave up on giving/sharing ideas with folks here, too many close-minded "Daily Do-Littles" as I've coined the phrase. As you can see by no responses, not many folks here on this site are into doing anything to their cars other than pointing at them saying, I own a stock BMW woo woooo! God forbid if you personalize it or make it even better than how it came to you. That's 'spoiling greatness' or whatever.

Kindness of my heart leads to these links:

www.umnitza.com <-- Kings of BMW lighting
www.modbargins.com <-- massive mod parts selection for BMW's.
www.autowerks.com <-- Another good site for BMW mods and parts.

I would personally suggest you look into Prolumen bulbs. Why? Find em on those links and read up you'll see why.

You can always poke around on Ebay, do a search for 'BMW 1156 bulb' and 1157 bulb, these are your corners and brake light bulbs. Your side markers are 196 bulbs.

Good luck - don't let my feelings getcha down about this site, alot of good folks here - along with some rather uptight ones too.

Everyone has an opinion (just like everyone has an a**hole), so here's mine:

There are only a few people, yes perhaps outspoken, that fit your "I own a stock BMW woo woooo!" stereotype. But I challenge the close-minded "Daily Do-Littles" accusation.

There are MANY hands-on members here with Dinan mods, engine swaps, performance suspension upgrades, wheels, CAIs, as well as DIY bone stock complete rebuilds. Some keep their cars bone stock but do regular maintenance like oil changes and brake R&R. I think it's GREAT for somebody who has a totally restored 2002 to say they are proud of a bone stock classic car!! Some of us participate in AutoCross and Track Days.

If there is any accurate stereotype about this board, it's pragmatic upgrades. Most members here are not big into visual/show/bling/ricer upgrades, and prefer to spend their hard earned $$ on true performance and handling mods.

I've put over $2000 of Autocross performance upgrades into my 94 325i, including ripping out the rear subframe to add M3 reinforcement plates, replacing subframe bushings, trailing airm bushings, rear shock mounts, Konis, UUC catback, guibo, wheels, green stuff brake pads, etc. etc. ALL done by my hands, INCLUDING the welding.

I didn't answer his question because I didn't have anything to contribute - I figger it's better to keep quiet if I don't have personal experience. I personally don't care about clear light upgrades and have never investigated it. But your assumption that no answer = "Daily Do-Littles" is just wrong.

As for those comments from both of you guys, I won't add any more fuel to the fire.

wasnt there a post like this already ? [confused]
anyways you can use orange nail polish on the turn signal bulbs it wont burn off cause the lights arent on all the time.
i have clear corner lenses on the front of mine and i just used the stock bulb never painted it and never been bothered by the police.
btw when painting the bulb try not to coat it too heavy otherwise it wont light bright enough.
