got a nice deal on a 93 325is. everything's ok till "brake light circuit" shows up when i brake abruptly. can anyone tell me what's wrong with it and is it still ok to use the car even if this is showing up? one more thing is it also shows "check coolant level" after every engine turn off. i went to a bmw dealer and i'm about ready to buy a coolant but the sales rep checked my reservoir and said it's still on the borderline and advised to just add water up to the right level which i did but then it still is showing up after i turn off the engine. thanks in advance and i appreciate it. [:X]

maybe your thermostat is bad and its affecting the way your computer is reading the coolant level?

and maybe you abs system is haveing some problems, so that is why it is coming on? i'm not really sure about that one. does it vibrate when you brake?

the brake light circuit message can be due to a loose/bad lightbulb, fuse. personally i recommend checking your third brake light and make sure the light bulb is on there good(i had that problem in my car). btw, this error message does not mean your braking system is screwed. as for the coolant level, i say drain the radiator, then fill it up just to make sure the radiator is full not just just the reservoir. as stated before, it can also be your thermostat. g'luck.

i had teh same problem with the brake light curcuit with my 325i you need new bulb sockets and crap. it cost like 100 bucks for parts and like 25 to 50 for labor, not big. and the same probelm with my coolant haha that was easy, just flush the radiator and add antifreeze
