i posted a thread a few weeks ago about "check coolant level" that shows up every after engine turn off. i appreciated those who replied. i haven't done anything yet about it and now there is another problem that popped-up - - heater won't work. it just blows air even if its in the 90s. are these two related in some ways? i need replies since it's becoming cold here in texas. thanks again in advance SOS [:X]

I don't think so. Am having a problem where my heater isn't very hot. From what i understand, i think it's the themostat. If it's stuck open, then the water will just flow freely without being heated. That's what i think.

sounds like a stuck thermostat.when that happens,it allows the coolant to circulate too quick and not warm up.there's a coolant level sender on the side pass of the radiator that might have gone bad too.

I just had my thermostat replaced because the temp gauge never got much out of the blue, and the heater wasn't hot. It also tripped the "check engine" light. Now that the thermostat has been replaced, I've got heat, which is nice here in Colorado.

see my coolent thing pops up on my OBC often, but not all the time. when i had my snow tires mounted i made note for them to top it off, and it still does.

frolf - i had almost the same problem.... there was a very small leak comming from the thermostat housing, replaced it with an aluminum housing and all is well.... i was never able to see any fluid, but when i got the housing off there was a bunch of dried antifreeze.
