Dinan chip

i asked my mech. about what it would take b/c i thought about it for a while and off the top of my head it was a new throttle body, exhaust, fan and the list goes on...its about 3000 in parts, in addition to labor then you have the engine....if you were really that serious about adding major Hp you should think about a supercharger in addition to the chips and maybe a new exhaust and cold air intake...all of that would still be less than a new or used engine

for now im just interested in the tranny swap. I really hate automatics ( dont even know why i bought one.. ah the damn traffic jams ), i bought the car cheap ( i think ) for now i just want to have my stick.

about the tranny chip with conforti software, you don't need one. my car is running perfectly and all i put in is the chip. i even called turner before i bought the software offline. also... i have a friend that has a 97 328is auto who just bought the dinan software w/ tranny chip and cai from c2dusa.com for like 1200 and our cars feel identical, except my car can rev to 7000!!! all i paid for my conforti chip and autowerke intake was 700. oh yeah, my car also out accelerates his 0-60. the main advantage with dinan is that the equipment maintains stock warranties. that would definitely be a plus if you have a warrany in place.

Multi throttle intake is goog an for OBD1 cars ads up more than for OBD2.

Every horsepower for BMW is expensive.

I recently installed a Dinan chip along with their CA intake and throttle body. How does the Stage 3 chip differ from the one I would have installed on my 92 325i?

What do you guys think of RACING DYNAMICS? I really like conforti chips ( at least the idea ) that my car will accelerate better on lower RPMs not just higher, also the adjustment to the tranny is a major point for me ( automatic *agr* ). Any pros/cons for racing dynamics?

Well I know what most of the board thinks of Racing Dynamics....read the thread about them, as fasr as this board goes, their reputation is not the best

Only a few topics here, but nothing on the chips. The company has internal problems which doesnt mean that they dont do good stuff. I just want to know if anyone had their chip or what are the good sides of having it versus dinan or conforti. Is also a tranny chip( like the conforti chip )?
