Hey folks, I'm looking to increase performance of my 328is (currently stock). I'm looking at CAIS, Conforti chip for starters. I also heard that disabling the elect. governor will add top end speed. Is this true ? Is it computer program related or is it as simple as adding or removing a resistor...not sure...looking for help. Also would like to know if anybody has experience with the low cost CAI systems listed on Ebay. There are several different styles...but no matter what, $20.00 to $30.00 seems cheap (and a good way to go if they're worth it) compared to $300.00 for a similar Dinan set-up. I'm guessing it's the "you get what you pay for" thing.
Well I guess I have some more info and more to think about. I suppose I should take care of priorities 1st and look into this stuff later. The Dinan stuff is definately the way I would like to go, but when you look at the price, it definately makes you want to look for options. Does anyone have some more info about the "Conforti" chip, I see number claims and stuff like that but no "hands-on" experience with the software. I'm looking for someone that can give me true hands-on experiences with different types of performance enhancements and how certain combinations may work (or not work). I know what I can spend realistically, and unfortunately Dinan is not an option. Thanx for your responses.
