bmw4life, is right on the money. The question that began this thread was which is better. Tokfan has an opinion and at the same time......apparently an ax to grind and he's grinding it on this thread. He's right of course, but getting back to the original question.....the M3 is a much finer car than the 328. I've driven both.....and there is a difference....a very enjoyable difference. I've owned Mustangs and Corvettes.....although different cars, I like to drive my 99 M3 the best. It is definitely the ultimate driving machine. Tokfan.......your absolutely right, but personally, I've driven Audi's....nice cars....great German ride.....I love seeing them on the road......especially when I pass them in my M3. :]

328is vs Sport package, how can you tell?

Okay, so I found out that just because a coupe has the (for example) "328is" on the back end, it doesn't mean it has the Sport package. All it means is that it's a coupe 328 and not a sedan (328i) So, how do I tell if the car (328iS) or even 325iS has the Sport package? What IS the sport package, anyway? Big difference in handling/appearance (interior/exterior) between a "328iS" and a "328iS" with the Sport package?
Help?

kjtar - 328iS less the sport package = 328i, unless of course they affixed the badge themselves. I can tell you off the bat that an iS has upgraded seats and suspension and i'll let the owners finish that list.

I don't know if 325 has an is badge at all. Mine has sport package but it's a sedan and has a 325i badge not iS so I don't know. One thing though, if a 325 has 328's wheels, (the ones in my signature) then it has sport package unless the previous owner put the wheel on after.

the 328 is a great car and for a first time buyer i highly reccomend that over an m3 casue matnence is easier and yuo can do much more to it to make it a custom car. but if you want a really nice tricked out bmw go for the m3.
