E90 and an IPOD?

Anyone here with an E90 series BMW and an IPOD?

I was thinking about getting this setup, but I wanted to here some feedback from other users first.

How is the sound quality?
Can you control the IPOD with the Steering Wheel Controls? / on the IPOD?
Which connnection kit did you get?
Who installed it?
When connected, does the IPOD charge?

And anything else I should know?

I was told by the local dealer the controller that allows you to control an ipod from the steering wheel will be available in July. Until then you can use an ipod by connecting it to the aux jack at the center arm rest. The sound quality is okay, and it won't charge the battery.

I have had my IPOD hooked up on the Aux plug now for 2 months. The sound is CD quality. I asked my dealer about the new controler coming out for the E90. He said they are steal testing this system and they are still having problems. He thinks it will be Jan 07 befor it is ready. Till then my Aux cable is great.

where can i get an aux jack for the ipod ? how much is it ?

Hi. The e90 has a 3.5 jack and can not be controlled from the stearing wheel.

You can get a AUX cable in about any store that sails electronics. Its just a cable with 2 male ends.

cable works ok but i thought that the ipod menu was suppose to come up on the navi screen?!?1 is it ?
