exhaust maniful gasket

I'm changing exhaust maniful gasket but dont remember how to putting gasket back.Gasket has two sides one is like aluminium and other is like black carbon.With side go to head and witch side go to maniful

If I were to take an educated guess, I would say the aluminum goes towards the head gasket so that it doesn't damage the engine block if overtightened
