A buddy of mine bought a Police Interceptor Crown Vic from a local PD. He's a volunteer firefighter, so they let him keep all the dash and package tray mounted strobes and strobes integrated into the front and rear lights as well as the siren and radios. He just had to change out the blue lenses to red ones. I loved cruising around with him in that car - it is comfortable, pretty fast, and man, did it make other drivers paranoid!! It's amazing how people will slow down and move out of your way just at the sight of a police interceptor.

If you check eBay, you can find a few Police cars (with lightbars, etc still on them) for pretty cheap. Though, impersonating a cop is illegal.. The front fog lights, cb, and "rear-deck brakelights" are impersonating-ish.

I have always wanted one though.

Why would anyone want a car like that??? The only reason for wanting a police car would be for the performance but look at the stats! That car would have to get low 13's in the 1/4 mile to justify being so god damed ugly.

haha exactly, if this guy thinks it's so EXTREME he should try driving a BMW. An 8.8 0-60 for a V8 isn't great... I also think it's suicide to go on a high-speed chase with one of those things. About the impersonating a cop thing, don't they mean in person? I think it might be alright if you have a similar-looking car. Even though it's probably a horrible car, I think it's a perfectly legit thing to own if you're out there to piss people off.

I had some jackass police wannabe pull up right on my bumper last week. He had blue lights mounted and everything. I thought those were illegal. As he was sitting on my rear bumper he started talking into a mike like he was calling in my plate number. I switched lanes and hit the brakes and as he rolled by I could see it was a punk kid with a vanity plate. I should have called the REAL cops on him. [thumbd]

actually they are very fun cars, my friend has like 93 and he payed like 2000 for it. During the winter we could do doughnuts and all kinds of things with the V8, in the snow it actually handled better than my 318is but i think that might of been because me and 4 other people were crammed in the back. Still its a good fun car.

Should have. That's the sort of person that gives real cops a bad name. He prolly pulls worse stuff like that. I woulda called the cops and said someone was impersonating them and then given them the plates.
