maybe you think it doesn't work because you have no stored codes? why do you want to have a stored code so bad? is there some reason you are expecting to get a code? no codes is a good thing!

My check engien light came on. So i wanted to know why it came on. Has to do with the emissions so the manual says but i will like to fix it if its going to cause problems

Wow, guys have a little patience, as SOON as you turn the car on, press the petal up and down FULLY 5 times. It will work. It worked for me. If there's nothing wrong it will still give you a code. Most likely a 1444 depending on your car. I just did it and it worked fine. Took me 3 shots but I got it to work no problem.

I found this site today before I saw this post. The pelican parts site says that it's not possible with OBDII cars, for that they use a special tool. I tried it and it didn't work (95 325i). I'll try to do it right after I turn the key next time.

wow u guyz went crazy on my thread hehehe yes IT DOES WORK iv done it!!!

my problem was my key was not far enough turned... i had it where the radio and stuff turns on... u gota go a little bit further to RIGHT BEFORE the engine turns.

sory this probly only works for pre 96-97ish cars odb2 readers can be picked up on ebay for 50bux i got one of the readers it works great

it have work for mee..

after my second try, y got it ..
the trick is ((((as soon))) you turn the key on you have to go kick your gaz pedal quick 5 times..

and it gave mee the code 1444 ( no failure)

i have a 1992 325is 2.5 litres..
