Front Spring Problem, w/panic attack

I decided to put some coilover springs in my 318. I found some on the net that were supposed to fit mine. I assumed that they would not be the perfect height, which is where I assumed the adjustable coilovers would come in handy. Well, when I saw my car, I got a lump in my throat and nearly cried. Sad but true. My back end is about perfect. My front end however, is AWFUL. It is cranked all the way down, meaning its as low as it will go, and I still have about 3 inches in between my tires and fender....it looks as bad as can be. [80?] My mechanic did not have time to work on it, and didnt have any ideas what to do. So I am turning to you guys. Anys suggestions on how to alliviate this problem without having to buy all new springs????? Here are a couple of possible solutions I have come up with. Please tell me if these would work or if you have some of your own.

1. Cut my aftermarket springs so that they sit down lower
2. Put my original back in, and cut those(these would not need to be cut as much)

This is all I have come up with, I am sick as I write this because of what my car looks like right now. I will not bring this car in public until I get it fixed, a BMW should not be seen like this.

So if anyone has ANY ideas please let me know. Also, ride is not as important right now as making it look half ways normal. Thank you all very much, I will be checking back every 5 miuntes because I have nearly lost my mind about the whole deal. [eek]

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but is the appearance really more important than the ride?

However, I will admit that a three inch gap probably does look a bit ridiculous.

My buddy had this same problem with his prelude (I know different car all together, but you never know). His front end looked ridiculous; we went shop to shop asking how to fix the problem and why it happened. Every shop said that the coil overs that were used seem to be somewhat universal and it has different affects on different (and altered suspensions). We cut his stock springs a LOT and put them back on. This worked aesthetically, however, the ride was horrid. Eventually he had to pay big bucks for Honda coil overs. If ride doesn't matter cut a pair of springs, but you definitely are not going to like the ride, cause you are going to have to cut a heck of a lot.

THanks

Thank you for a quick resonse. The way the it rides right now, it cant get much more stiff, nor could it look worse. Appearance, at this point, is not even plausible, I almost cant believe it looks so crazy. Thanks for the advice, anybody else????? [drinking]

I will do my best to get a pic of the car on. Or did you mean the springs??

either way, I will try to get them on tomorrow. The car looks like someone put springs in a car that weighed about 1000lbs to light in the front. Or like there is about 1000 lbs in the trunk.
