hi...trying to diagnose a problem with hesitation on a 1994 325ic and think that it may be the fuel pump what should the fuel pressure be? if anyone else has had to replace a pump what were your symptoms? Any response and help is very appreciated. Thanks.

i replaced my pump. i get ~50PSI. i also cleaned my injectors, throttle body, and icv. i had hesitation at start up and my car shook like it was on crack. during normal/aspirated driving the car felt WEAK. sometimes, the car would completely die. g/l!

Thanks for the input...will try to get a pump tomorrow. I tested and am getting 43 psi in the garage. I had the injectors cleaned about a week ago and that helped temporarily. The description that you gave of the symptoms totally describes what she is doing. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the response.

Thanks again, replaced filter late yesterday and she was better today but not quite 100%. I still want to do the pump, got a deal for 135 for the VDO and I figure at her age it is precautionary, had one go on a Supra a long time ago and got stranded. Will have it tomorrow...will let you know.

Replaced the pump today, I haven't driven her yet, but my hubby says she is improved, but not there. We are down to a puttering up to about 1700rpms. Based on what I have read, the ICV is next. Thoughts and replies are appreciated. Thanks.
