Brought my car into the dealer due to it overheating (as posted in the message, "Problems..."). Anyway, it appears that it needs a new thermostat. I asked him to check some other things and one of the things was that if i pushed the gear shift to the right (say to shift into 5th gear) it would stick to the right if the car wasn't warmed up. I thought it was just a bushing problem. The dealer calls me back and says that it's an internal failure problem, and they will replace my entire transmisison! Sweet thing is that I still have CPO warranty coverage until 2/2/04. So it's FREE! Besides the $50 deductible I have to pay. The thermostat repair is also covered. He said the transmission job is like $4000. So $50 well spent!
He said that they put in a remanufactured transmission. What does that mean? I asked if it was new and he said no, only new cars have new transmission. So, I'm not too sure what "remanufactured" constitutes, I don't want a transmission that has tons of miles on it...anyone know?
