Getting the hood emblem out

Does anyone know a proper way to pry off the hood emblem?
I bought a new one and made some decal mods for it.
The old was really worn out.
I've tried to pry it off easily with a screwdriver but I can't get it under the emblem so it would lift off.
The second thing is, I'd prefer not to damage the paintwork...

Ask guys at the shop

Good luck but I had the same problem. I thought hey I'll just take out the old one, pop in a new one and be good to go. Well I couldn't even get the old one off. It seemed that to press hard enough to get it off would damage the hood.

Ask someone at your shop, they will tell you for free. Maybe even do it.

I have removed many with a small flat blade screwdriver or putty knife. Wrap a piece of cloth over the blade and work slowly around the roundel untill you can get under it. Then continue to work around lifting slowly as you go.

Thanks guys!

I also used my old credit card as a prying tool... great help - now it doesn't have any other use [:)]
I slided the edge of the card right under the emblem and then stuck a precise screwdriver between the card and and emblem - just a hint of prying from a couple of corners and that's it...
I'll pass some photo's of the new installation tomorrow... [burnout]
