Heater squeeling

One more question for you all about the 98 328iS.......

I've noticed a subtle, but quite noticable high-pitched squeeling (for lack of a better description) coming from the heating system on occassion. With the radio on, you really don't notice it too much, but when the radio is turned down or off, you can hear this noise coming from somewhere in the vents. If you turn the heater right off then the noise goes away, so I would expect that it's from the fan motor or something.

Anyone else heard this and if so, any idea how to get rid of it?

Brad - I have the same thing going. When I use A/C, no noise at all; however, when the heater is on - there's a high-pitched squeeking at certain fan speeds. I figure it's a blower motor, and since it's an expensive thing to replace (labor-wise), I'd let it go for now.

Thanks. I'll try turning the A/C on to see if it goes away. If I find a solution, I'll let you know....
