Help Check Engine light on

It could be something as mundane as a loose gas cap or some other sensor firing off. Take it to a good service shop, a dealer or even some AutoZones and have it hooked up and get the fault code read. Then you can start to see what to fix and then reset the light. You can get your own code reader for $110-$150 and do that yourself as well as repair it.
my light has been OFF somewhere around 7 days i've owned the car, 7 or 9. its always on, like a night light, it brings me comfort.....
since i dont' have my own diagnostic i was going to have them run it at my dealership, but no, thats $120 just to run it. so i said "oh come on, i still get great mileage and great performacnce" and they guy said "yeah its probably just emissions, don't waste your money."

dont forget u can do a FREEE!!!! self DIAGNOSTIC!!!
1. turn off the car
2. turn the key to the "right before the car starts possition" the "on" possition
3. press the gas pedel all the way down 5 times
4. your engine light will flash in sequence's
