Hi
I have a '95 bmw E36 compact 316i and i had last year some problems with theft. I had to replace my starting contact and the key. The original had a chip in it, a small Philips module which now is glued underneath the contact (which has 2 small wires to read the electromagnetic field from the Philips chip i guess) . Since yesterday, all went fine but when i tried to start the car the ignition was dead. All lights come on, but nothing happens. My guess is that the ECU is not reading anymore the Philips microchip. Can anyone help me ? Is there a way to bypass this security item ? I am desperate.
