help...testing coils

hi, I have a '94 325ic. It has been running with hesitation below 2500rpms.
Replaced the fuel pressure regulator, a vaccum line, had injectors cleaned, new Bosch platnium plugs, O2 sensor, and fuel filter. Read a post w/similar problem and today replaced the platnium plugs (post said incompatible) and the boots. It is improved, but i am concerned that a coil may be bad. Is there a way to test the coils? Any other ideas?

i would suspect the plug wires before the coils, if they haven't ever been changed?

just replaced the spark plug connectors and problem w/hesitation still exists, checked the terminals on the computer and they seem to be okay. any help or ideas are appreciated. thanks
