Hood release not working

We recently replaced my hood on my 92 325i. We got the hood on and everything, but now the release doesn't work and we cant pop the hood open. Does anyone know what we can do?

make sure nothing is crimping the cable if you had to re-route it. also make sure that it's operating smoothly at the latch.
