Hi, I'm kinda new to this forum and the 525i is my first BMW (Switched from MB). But I did get a lot of info from this forum for my purchase. Thanks everyone!

One question though: The BMW Assist & Bluetooth preparation (which is standard on the 5-series, but a CAD$1100/US$700 option on the 3-series) Does this include the module or this is just the pre-wiring?

I know the BT option is standard on the US model 5-series. Is there anyone in Canada who can confirm this for me please?

Thanks!

I also just added an '06 525i to go with my 1999 Z3. (Replaced an '01 Audi A6 2.7T). In Canada, BMW assist is already there, and your dealer should have sent in the paperwork to get your first year free. If you're not sure if they did, press the SOS button in the ceiling to get connected and ask if they've got your paperwork.

The Bluetooth is complete preparation. I am picking up my new Razr phone from the dealer (Budd's) tomorrow, and they assure me it's a simple process to get the car and phone synch'd. Nothing to add, it's all there. I'll report back after I get it done.

What a sweet deal. I bought the Motorola Razr on the BMW VIP program, and added it to my existing Rogers account. Went to the dealer yesterday, they synch'd the phone to the car and the bluetooth headset (came with the phone), and away I went. Simple. Now I can dial by number, dial from my phonebook and do everything and more using the steering wheel controls and i-drive. Even better...the voice-recognition program works with it, allowing you to dial by voice. BMW got it right on this one. The bluetooth in the car recognized the phone right away! Very clean...

Thanks Stiffy! It's glad to see this confirmation in Canada! My dealer told me that it's an option and I don't believe that it is! I mean...it even has the button on the demo car!! But he insisted that the button will not work unless I pay $1100. Now I know the truth!

But then: Does BMW Assist use your phone to call or it has it's own phone?

Thanks!

:p just couldn't wait to pick up mine in the end of Sept!!! [fake]
