attorney/lawyer = $$$, i proly wont be getting anything from the guy, he didnt have enuf money to pay his insurance so go figure, he`s not gonna have enuf to pay for my car.. the lawyer is my friend, friend... he`ll do it for free.... The only thing i can loose right now is, 150$ + red light conviction... i dont know what happend in the state of IL when you get convicted of a failure to stop on a red light... anyone knows?

Dude, did you run a red light or not??
Also, don't worry, if you skidded sideways, they can't determine the speed you were going based on sideways skid marks..they have to be perfectly straight. Also, they can't determine how fast you were going based on your car's damage...there is just no way to determine that as different cars crumple differently in accidents.
I think you're going to be alright in terms of the law....you got into an accident and it wasn't your fault and you already lost your car over it. I think you're going to be alright. [:)]
Sorry for the loss of your car and I hope it works out for you in the end.

I dont think so, but you know how it is, the police officer ( she ) that came to the accident wasnt very compentent, here is what she said after i asked her how they determined that i ran a red light... "well, from how the cars were placed and from the distance between them, your car came with such a high rate of speed... jarijara and after she saw im my eyes that I didnt just belive in any of what she said, shes like " I dont have time to explain it... " F**** B**** wtf anyway, hopefuly the court will belive me( and my witnesses ), i didnt get a ticket for speeding, just a red light, it bothers me that I got the ticket in the first place... but i figured arguing it then wouldnt really change anything. One weird thing, on my ticket( red light ) as a witness i have the guy who i actualy hit... how is that possible? where does my stand come in?

how much ~ is my insurance gonna go up after an accident? do they look on the damages and determine how much they should increase the payments or what? Im 19, same job for 1yr + clg, no prior tickets, now the bad part, one acident(liability only tho) , ticket for red light... Im looking into insuring it fully ( this time AGR! ), its either gonna be a M3 95-96 or 94-96 325/8 60-100k driven, i know i should contact my agent, but they are weird... and online quotes suck.

You had only liability insurance on that car???!!!??? I was expecting an old piece of junk bimmer not worth a whole heck of a lot. As much as I feel for your loss, I don't feel too sorry for you on the insurance side of things. If you're willing to drive and risk the total loss of a car due to "saving some money" on only liability... ::shakes head:: What can I say.

hm, well insuring the car is 3k for 6months, i bought the car for 6k.. + my old policy was ending in a week, i just figured ill get a new one.. never had a chance.

WHAT!!! Well then...you should not be driving...and certainly not a car considered by insurance companies as a sports car.

I insure 5 vehicles...3 bimmers...1 Mazda...and 1 VW bus...all for just over 2k per year...spread out into 9 monthly payments.

That sux!!

Maybe it has more to do with your driving record than with the car...but still.

Hmm...Well then...where the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks do you live? Iraq? It can't be So. Cal. because I'm here and know of many peeps with bimmers of the sort and paying much less insurance...even young HS types.

The highest insurance is in Brooklyn, where I currently live, any car will be about 5000 a year for someone younger than 21. Will be moving to Staten Island (only about 20 minutes away from the current location) and the insurance company says the price will be 650 for 6 months for a 97 avalon and a 95 325i. They are under my dad's name though. The insurance is liability only too but my dad knows how to drive defensively and believes that I do to, not as good as him but close. Also, right now, you get from 4 to 6 points and I think about 400 bucks fine for running a YELLOW light. I always stop when I can before it truns yellow.

Yeah, to the amazement of all the people i crawled out of my car without any injurys whatsoever... The car saved me alot of pain and money, so for my next car, I decided to buy exacly the same one i had.. well with one exception, its gonna be stick. 325I... I was gonna go with a M3 but my insurance is high as it is, so this time, FULL COVERAGE. I found a car, its in baltimore, anyone knows if the cars have alot of rust over there? The car which Im buying has a salvaged title, it was hit in the back.. basicly i just need the trunk, tail lights and a little bit of work, my friend has a shop... So for around 2k i should have a driveable car... for now at least. Its probably gonna be better for me if i wait until im 21 and then buy a M3, the insurance is gonna go down... and after all, Im getting a STICK...
