I just got a 99 M3 with 2 remotes. I have followed the procedure for initiating the remote (opening the trunk, flipping the ignition switch, etc.) which seemed to work, as the LED blinked and the horn chirped after each button was pressed.
Here are the problems:
1. The remote does not lock and unlock the doors.
2. When I press the arm or disarm button, the speaker chirps three times, but the remote does not arm (the LED will not blink).
3. However, if I hold down the arm button, the alarm will sound. Then if I press the disarm button, the alarm stops sounding but the system remains armed.
Any ideas on what the problem is?
