Any suggestions? When I search on Crutchfields, they only list kick-panel and rear deck speakers... are there no replacements for the 2 speakers in the door?
What are some good brands that sound good and leave the look stock?
Thanks for any help,
Mike

there are speakers down in the footwells, hard to see.... they're in a wierd position, doesn't seem like they could produce much of a hifi sound from down there

the kick panel is a 5.25" component while your dooe panel has a 1" and 2" tweeter. i disconnected my 2" tweeter when i replaced my speakers....its pretty worthless. go with mb quart and you wont be disappointed. just remember that if you're looking for bass you will need a sub...oh yeah you'll also need 2 amps to power your speakers and sub...goodluck. i will post pics of my system as soon as i get my computer next week....good luck.

don't forget that your rear deck speakers are 5.25" COMPONENTS as well. they are not coaxials!!!! i guess you can replace your factory rear speakers with coaxials but why would you if you can fit in a set of comps.

Cool, yeah I have a 10" JL in back for the bass. How much $ are we talkin here for the MB Quarts, and what series? Their website is pretty confusing...

I just got the speakers replaced in mine. i have a 92 325i. But i got some eclipse speakers to replace the previously upgraded speakers (pioneer), but the Eclipse sound awsome. I also have an Alpine Deck. Its around $400 for everything i have. I might be getting 2 MTX 12"s pretty soon...then i'll have my sound system the way i want it...and shift the focus on the rest of my car [hihi]

in my opinion the best speakers are focal. they have several lines all varying in price range but are very $$$$. mb quart are also excellent. they come in the discus, reference, premium, and q series. stay away from their entry level (discus series) because their not very good. otherwise my advice to you is to go to a local car audio shop and listen to as many brands of speakers and choose the brand that sounds best to YOUR ears. everyone has different taste so don't listen to the salesman because he's just going to try and make a sale.

here's my top 5 list of speakers from best:
1)focal, 2)mb quart, 3)boston acoustics, 4)infinity, 5)alpine.

btw here's my set up:)
alpine CDA 9813 head unit
alpine CHA-S634 6-disc changer
mb quart q series 5.25" components for the front and rear
alpine mrv-f540 amp
rockford fosgate HE2 12" subwoofer with q-logic box
rockford fosgate 401s amp

yes that would definitely work for your front and rear. be careful of this merchant because his feedback rating is only 98%. if i were you i would get these speakers from mr2niceguy on ebay because their feedback rating is >99% (i've purchased stuff from them without any problems). oh yeah one other thing....don't expect to get very good bass response from any 5.25" comps. remember you will need to add a sub to get good bass response. the mb quart's will only give you excellent mid and high frequency sounds. one last thing.. remember to set the mb quart crossover at -6 for the tweeters. if you keep them at the factory 0 setting they will produce shrieking highs!!!!

it was babied by the previous owner, and I just make sure I wash it all the time so dirt never sits on the paint for more than a few days.
Thanks for the kind words, it gets a lot of looks, most can't believe it's a 8-year old car! (It sure doesn't drive like one!)
I can't decide if I want to put more money in it or save for an upgrade in a year or so. Decisions.... [driving]
