M42 Question

Can anyone tell me if an M42 motor out of a 1992 e30 is the same as the M42 in my 1994 e36? My e36 318is M42 is trashed and I have an opportunity to pick up a good M42 out of a 1992 e30 318. I realize the intake manifold is different...will mine (e36) bolt up to the head? Are there any other differences that would prevent me from using this motor in my e36?

I believe it is the same motor and should work fine. I believe the intakes will swap out easily as well.
