mechanic/ oil change?

I was wondering if anyone had a mechanic they trusted in the OC?
Also, I just asked the dealer and they said I only need an oil change every 15k.
Is this true or would I benefit from getting them more often?

I have no knowledge of mechanics in OC, although I grew up in Huntington Beach and Mission Viejo, many moons ago! The dealer is correct although most of us change the oil ourselves at about 7500 miles. I for one am not a believer in extended chages, ie 15k. And as a side note, welcome to the best board around.
