I am new to the board, and bmw. I've just bought a '92 325i, and was wondering what to look for in a cold air intake (sorry if anyone is tired of this subject). I have found some cheapo intakes on ebay, and some real expensive ones. What is the difference, and how hard is it to install. Also, my car is a daily driver and we get a lot of wet weather here, is it better to go with an intake in the engine bay with a heat shield, or a lower ram air type behind the grill?

well, since you say you get a lot of wet weather, definetly the one in the engine bay with a heatshield. I have one and I'm in the process of frabricating the heatshield. A friend of mine has an M3 with a heatshield and I have it all traced out. If you can find someone with one, ask them if you can trace it, otherwise you'll end up spending 400 dollars for the real deal.
