Dear Friends,
i have got a 1995 318 is, The car have a problem that it doesn't start when i try to put the car on, what the car does is that it opens and right away shuts, i mean every thing sounds good, no noise nothing, it just starts as if it's going to work and then the rpm goes down to zero and shuts,
and if i want to put it on, i have to press on gas pedal while trying to put on and try to keep RPM a bit high like 3.000 rpm, so it would heat up a bit then it will stay on.
this is a very bad thing, i feeel like i want get rid of the car, though it's a good one except for this irrtating problem.
there are so many things to think about like ICV, O2 sensor, lambda sensor, heat sensor, Throttle Valve is new, i don't know, i don't know,
Does anyone have the right experience to answer this hesetating problem of mine, plesae advise, roger that & thanks in advance

Sounds like ISV.. Though it could be the temperature sender.

Anyway, you should do the ISV thing first - take it off and flood with some carburator cleaner, leave it wet for a while and spray again and then air-blow it.

If that does not help, check the temperature sender connectors (all) for green corrosion and the connector on ISV itself - if notice any green reisude - get rid of it - clean it till the connector contact surface is clean and shines. Radioshack usually has contact spraycleaners and contact grease in stock, which must help you in this case, and, it never hurts to always have some in your garage. Apply the grease after the contacts are clean. In worst case you can use WD40 or similar carefully to protect the connectors, but do not flood them, its not good for wiring.

The 02 sensor is the same lamda sensor, but either of them is not the case.

Come back and tell us whats the status.
