I am looking at buying a used 1999 328is with 93,500 miles. The 328 has an M3 body style and has been upgraded with a Dinan performance chip. The asking price is $13,800, but the owner will trade it in at a BMW dealer if he doesn't sell it in a few weeks. The body is in good condition. Is it a good deal? Is it unusual to have an M3 body style? Any advice would be appreciated.

The "s" in the 328is stands for sports package, which is just like the M3 (except for motor of course). The price is pretty good if it is in very good condition. Just keep in mind that it may require a tune-up, struts, brakes, etc. right away. I just received a quote on mine (which I just bought less than 2 months ago and it drives great) for these items and WOW. It can get pretty expensive. If it recently had a tune-up and new brakes, struts, and/or tires it is a very good deal.
