need some help

i have a 99 318ti beemer and the driver side window will go up and down but wont stay in place and is not working right. I have been told by a few people that it is the window regulator that needs to be replaced? Any have any ideas on this or can help me figure out how to change this so i dont have to spend hundreds gettin it fixed. Also anyone located kinda near houston tx that might be able to help me i would be able to compensate you some. Thanks guys and let me know

yea it will go up and down by itself but will not stay straight. I have to kinda guide it in. And thanks for the welcome. I just found this site and love it already. Manuel i hear your good and could really use your help. I am a college student and still learnin. thanks guys

i think if you have to "guide" it up, it miight be something else. remove your door panel and see if anything else is wrong.
