New Exhaust System

Hey guys,
I just put on my new catback exhaust system with dtm tips. Im only 17years old, and i was a little scared to put it on by myself, but after about 2 hours it was on. The first thing i noticed was a burning smell. Is this just the chrome finish of the exhaust burning? Is that normal for a new exhaust? Please email me back. PS I love the way it sounds and i would recomend it for every bmw!

what kind of exhaust is it? i just got my new aa exhaust 2 weeks ago and there was a weird somewhat sweet smell coming from my exhaust. after about 2 days i noticed this white powder coming out of the exhaust. i thought it was unusual so i called aa and they said that it's normal and that the smell would go away within 2 weeks. they were right and i can't stop smiling everytime i start my car and hear my exhaust!!!!

if youv'e done it correctly the gunk that gets put on to seal the whole thing up heats and hardens and obviously burns abit it should go within a week or two.
