Yesterday morning I decided to replace the Bosh Platinum +4's of my 328i by the OEM Bosch two elements. I have done this twice since I own this car (3 years ago) same replacement same problem with OEM's. When the engine is at IDLE speed it misfires about 10 times per minute and under heavy load tehere is a slight hesitation. [mad]

Conclusions:

1. My car has one or more defective coils. It must work fine with the original SP's

2. The +4s needs less current to do the ignition job well, this mens they are much more efficient than the OEM's. I have no doubt about this, and you?

I think this test answers many of the posts regarding the +4's, at least for the M52 engine.

I have the +4 and they didn't seem to make any difference when compared to the OEMs. I do have a wierd shake at 1k and lower rpm but it doesn't seem to be bad enough to be a misfire. Plus, I had that with OEMs also, no clue whats going on.

I do not understand, if some of you had the same problem with OEM's, then we can conclude two things.

1. The 21th century OEM plugs are bad made, because I'm sure my car when was a new one didn't misfired.

2. The M52 engines had lost a lot of compresion with age.

Any way I'll continue using the +4's. And remember, SP's don't last more than 25.000 milles. Easy, when you install a new SP's you feel the difference inmediatelly in the low RPM's torque.
