Ordering new BMW key

I bought my 98 328is with just 1 key, the previous owner somehow managed to lose the other keys. Besides the ignition lock was replaced by the previous owner. I want to order the spare key from delership but they have the PIN number for original ignition lock on this car so I'm not sure if new key will work with the replacement lock, will it? When they replace the ignition lock on BMWs do they keep the lock PIN number the same? The key has a chip in it with build-in PIN code.

well i had the igniton switch changed on my car shortly after buying it and i still use the originaiol key.

Alright, thanks. It means they keep the original PIN when changing the key then.
