I have a 1996 328i. It runs extremely well. The engine is beautiful and the ride is great. There are only a couple of things wrong with it and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems and if there are any quick solutions. The first problem is that the clear coat is peeling off. I know the only solution here is to get the whole thing repainted, but because of insufficient funds that is going to have to wait. I have been peeling off what I can and then waxing the basecoat in an attempt to keep it from rusting. Is there anythign I can do here? The second problem is not major, but mainly annoying. At some point during every ride in the car the check control light comes on and the error screen says brake light circuit. I have checked in the manual and it says to make sure all the brake lights work. They do. I have checked them many times and they work in all functions. Is there any solution to this problem without having to spend 100 dollars to take it to the shop? The last problem is that when I am at a stop I notice that a rattling noise goes in and out randomly. My mom's '97 528i does the same thing and they say it is the A/C. Any solution here? Thanks for the help.
