Picked her up today

I traveled a total of 6 hours to pick her up but she is sitting outside, waiting for tom morning's turn of the key [headbang] Man I spend all day driving her around and enjoying every moment of it [driving] .
So here she is:
2001 BMW 330ci
Titanium Silver
Black Leather int
5 speed
Sport Package

Car is incredible and I love everything about it. Really happy I chose this car, absolutely no regrets. Already have a line of people wanting to either ride in it or take it for a spin (yeah around the parking lot [thumb] ). Can wait to take it down to the beach and see what happens now [hihi].

Rain-X makes a liquid wax specific for wheels...but I didn't think it lasted very long. You can use any synthetic-based wax that'll form a hard barrier. I used to use 3M paste wax on them. The wheels have to be perfectly clean...otherwise you're just waxing in any gook that is there. When my wheels were waxed...the brake dust literally washed off without rubbing. You've gotta be a real detailer freak to go to such lengths...I ultimately gave up the fight. Now I'm eyeing some new 17" wheels to replace my 16s.

I am certainly not a detailer freak. However, that brake junk is all over the wheels on my Volvo and it has started to set in. If I can eliminate some of that with my new ride, I will be very happy.

Euro_Delivery, the best and easiest thing to do is to just clean your wheels often. Brake dust is terribly annoying and what makes it worse is that the longer you take to clean the brake dust off your wheels, the harder it is to remove when you finally decide you want it all off. If you don't wash your car once a week, then your best bet is to just take a cotton towel and wipe down the wheels on a weekly basis. The trick to fighting brake dust, as basic and stupid as this sounds, is to just get rid of it as soon and as often as possible. The more you clean your wheels, the easier it is to clean them in the future.

Not if you have the 10 parallel spoke 'M' badged (18") wheels onn the 'ZHP'. [?|]

Has anybody heard or used a process [for wheels] called 'Zoop Seal'? They have a website.

I saw it on shown on 'Trucks'. It's a one time application that will last for up to a year,
repeling brake dust etc...[^]

Thx for the friendly welcome [wave] Let me tell u I've had the car since sunday, and I've already put 1000 miles on it because I'm finding it hard to leave the car [driving] I absolutely love it, it rides like I would expect and already gets attention I wasn't expecting... I a more upsetting note: BRAKE DUST holy crap [mad] I've never seen rims go from sparkling to 200 miles later, just covered in dust... Dealer told me that I would experience some brake dust due to how soft the brakes are, but I mean DAMN... Keeping the body clean, piece of cake, rims.. forget it..

Anywayz I've taken a pic but its on the digital and its been cloudy here in va so the pix is probably not going to be that nice, but I'm going to clean it tom (just cleaned it yesterday), just the rims, and take some more pix if its sunny out... I've been driving around an auto for the past 2 yrs, before that I was in italy wit a '86 520 (miss that car) 5 speed. God have I missed the 5 speed... its just to much fun...

ok enough of the novel... late...

Paddy, unfortunately I can't advise you on the Zoop Seal, but how (and how often) do you clean your wheels? If your brakes are like mine in that you have noticeable brake dust after an hour or two of driving, then your best bet is to just take a cotton towel and just wipe off the brake dust every few days. Your wheels already have a clear coat on them to protect and keep them clean and shiny. But if you don't clean off all the brake dust on a regular basis and you let it build up, then it becomes super hard to remove. If that becomes the case for you, pickup a bottle or two of a non-acidic wheel cleaner...spray it on a dry, cool, wheel and aggrivate the brake dust with a hard-bristle wheel brush, then rinse off. You will probably have to repeat this process a few times on each wheel to get rid of all the old brake dust. But as I said before, if you just make sure to keep your wheels clean, then cleaning the brake dust off in the future is a lot quicker and easier (in which case all you need is a towel to make your wheels look brand-new again, in between washes).
P.S. If anyone disagrees with me on this, that's totally cool. I have A LOT of experience with brake dust and I reserve the right to call myself a "brake dust expert"! [^]

The brake dust isn't a real big deal and is easy enough to remove, it's just getting in between the double spokes that's a pain in the[shake]. I'm going to pick-up some kind of
tool with a sponge-type material on the end of it to stick in between the spokes. I clean the dust off the wheels about every other day, and that's because I'm just real meticulous.
Have you read my post on removing my wheels every 5-6 weeks in order to clean the entire
wheel, front & back??? I've got a 'Snap-On' torque wrench on order so I can re-torque the wheel after cleaning. That's how 'detail conscious' I am going to be...[screwy]
