sorry for the repost but nobody left messages on the other thread....so give more opinions...in particular tell me what you think of the alpine head unit. i know the lights don't match but it doesn't look that bad.

thanks skillie. i plan on upgrading my HU to the alpine 7998, which has orange lights. i think it would look cooler in my ride.

i would dim the headunit a little so it does not kick out of the panel so much. is that possible? for the color, it somehow matches the green lights in the a/c. a little less brightness will match it even better.

for the rest, it is a very nice car you got there.

i think that on alpine decks you can change the color of the buttons between green and amber. i have an alpine (7894) and changed them.

unfortunately only a few alpine offer that. i once had an eye on them too to replace mine. those that could change the color were sold or too expensive so it got the JVC. that is not amber but white and red. that is just okay.

thanks everyone for the positive input. comrade1, the alpine 7894 is a sweet deck. i think you posted a pic of your setup in the past and it looked great. unfortunately the 7894 is no longer available. the only HU that alpine now offers that can change to amber lights is the 7998. btw it only costs $800!!

what do you guys think of smoked clear corners? it might look ricy on my car....not too sure though.

look at my lights. especially in the back. they are red-white. and that came stock. i think it looks perfect.

sucks about the alpine, but it still looks sweet. As far as the smoke color lights, i LOVE THEM! i acctually like them better than clear ones. No offence to Wadula or anyone else...i have clear lights too. the smoke ones (especially on sliver or black car) just look sweet. PLUS, not may people have them. be different bro, GET SMOKE!

i think i might get a pair of the smoked clear corners. btw i was talking about changing out my front corners and not my rear euro tail lights (definitely keeping them). i've seen some black cars with the smoked front clear corners on cardomain.com and they looked ok. i will take pics and post them once i get them.

You should change the head unit color to amber. alpine looks much better in the car without the cheap looking green. (its in the Power-button menu)

i agree, do the front ones at least. its something about the color that doesnt look right. might want to get the smoked side markers too while you are at it
