As title says.

The lid on the bin where the roof folds into will not open. Pulling on the release lever unlocks only one side.

How can i open the bin lid? is there a manual catch release or do i have to resort to brute force?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a 95 convertible and mine has the semi-automatic top - only the latch at the windscreen is manual. If yours is a manual operated top I won't be of much help except to say that there is a lock-out on the boot release if the trunk is open and vice versa. If yours is the same as mine, there is no manual release lever for the lid alone, only a motor release lever, activated by a strap that should be protruding from under the rear seat. This lever disengages the two motors so the top can be operated manually in case of electrical failure. Re-engagement of the motors take a little work.

Someone on the message board said their trunk had a faulty latch.....caused the top to not power down. Was an interesting read. Just throwing that out there. I would not yank on it and mess it up. Fixing these vert tops are not cheap. Take it to the dealer.....sorry to say....before you go yanking on the boot cover.
