Profile Gasket, also ABS relay

I just got my '95 318I a few weeks ago. ABS light was on, P.O. said relay. Have since had front rotors turned (good rotors/pads-they looked VERY good, just vibration at high speed braking), replaced rear rotors and pads a few days ago. (also belts)
Do I need to replace abs relay? Any way to check this out before I spend a kazillion dollars? It brakes fine. I would like ABS for rain/winter, just don't want to give my mechanic any more of my hard earned money! A simple abs relay test would be nice, but I'm sure it's not affordable.
Looking for some help/ideas.
Thanks in advance!

P.S.
Any ideas on "profile gasket" ??? Where is it, what does it do? (I got this from my soon deleted BMW site)
Thanks again!
Enjoy ! ( they're great aren't they!?)

I do not think your car was subject to the profile gasket problem ( Icould be wrong on this). It usually occurs prior to 50k miles. It is at the front of the engine near the water pump, in fact when it goes the first assumption was, my water pump went out. It manifests itself by rapid coolant loss. As far as the ABS, try the ABS fuse, then the relay, if it is not those try the mechanic. I would not turn BMW rotors, they are too thin and very reasonable to replace.

As far as your ABS relay, there is a way to check the relays. You'll need some electronics understanding and a few jumper wires (basically just wires but a jumper wire means there's zero resistance in the wire) But unfortunately, I don't have the time at this moment to explain how but I'll try to repost tomorrow with the guide.

Thanks for your reply/help. I'll check fuse in A.M.
I found out about rotors the hard way. (tune out now if you like-long!) I had just got the car when I noticed vibration in front under high speed braking. I assumed rotors. Lots of rotor and brake pad left so I brought it to my mechanic and wanted rotors turned. He doesn't turn rotors, better to replace. I went to Monro (who did my Miata oil changes good rapport) $114.00 to turn rotors. O.K. I say-do it! And you need new rear rotors and pads. $475.00. (yikes) I go back to my mechanic and say I want rear rotors and pads-$225.00!!!!!! For $100.00 more I could've had front rotors and pads new!!!! (I never asked him for a price on new rotors) Live and learn!
Did I mention this might get long?
Thanks for the support! The BEST site! ( I've searched-believe me!)
Thanks again,
Mel
