proud owner of 2000 e39

Hi

just bought myself an e39 year 2000. Anybody can advise me what to expect or any warning of the most frequent trouble for this car at that age, just in case?

Welcome aboard the board Halim. I am not sure of the problems that may occur with the E39 series, but you may want to ask the question in the 5-Series discussion section. I love that series as well. What type is it, 528, 530, 540 etc...? Congrats and enjoy...

Hi everyone

thank you so much for the warm welcome . Sorry for the late reply, kind of busy these days. After driving the car (523i SE) noticed that the engine sounds loud but you can only hear it a little from inside. The salesman told me that it is a performance car hence the noisy engine. Its quite when idling though.

the good feeling... driving the ultimate driving machine and winner of a lot of accolades .

BTW i had the monifold replaced by the dealer after the car couldn't start. Can this problem recur?

its a 523i SE. any thing in particular i should know about this model? As for now all i know it is an awesome machine.
