Hey, a friend of mine just bought a BMW yesterday. Battery was replaced and now everything is all outa sinc. The OBC is not showing the right Temp, and most of all the Radio needs a code to work. Anyone know any code to make this thing work or how to set the Temp ?

its in your manual...a booklet with the radio code.
or call the dealer and give them your VIN they can
give u the radio code.

what do u mean not showing the right temp? its in
celcius or farenheit?

Bahnstormer, i see what your saying though. We put it in both and it's still not showing the accurate temp. I just want to know if there's a way to change the socker myself.

The Radio code is on the radio. Only problem is you need a special tool to pull it out with. The tool looks like a allen key except its 5 sideed (pentagon shaped) If you go to the dealer if they are nice they will get you the code....and maybe just maybe if you ask nicely they will give/sell you the tool.[thumb]

the temp sensor might be broken or a wire loose somewhere...its near your driver side foglight most likely...what kinda bmw did he buy?

and tim i hope that the code isn't on the radio b/c then if someone steals it what's the point of having an anti theft code? lol...i know it sounds dumb, but the previous owner of my car wrote the code on the radio with a sharpie, had to scratch that out =]

It is on the radio, Seems most of them if not all of them are...according to my Parts dept buddy. I was tired of poor sound and lack of CD so last week I ordered and installed a new radio from crutchfield.com and oh what a difference. Radio stations are clearer. looks a hell of a lot better and best of all CD's and MP3's. Keeping the stock radio just in case I resell the BMW.

The car is a 1992 325I. Ok. now to the radio question. Tim did you say that putting a new cd player sounds better? I just got a CD/MP3 player that i am going to install tomorrow. Should i expect a great sound from it? it's a Blaupunkt MP3000.

I installed a PIONEER DEH 5500MP and it sounds great ! it could use some Bass but all in all its a HUGE improvement on the stock radio. Crutchfield made it easy as they sent me the adapter so all I had to do was solder a few wires and it was in the dash. took me about 45 minutes to do the whole thing. Highly recommend them to anyone with any car. TIm
