Rear windsheild

I have noticed on my 5er and other cars on the road (other than BMW) where the rear glass has a spotty blue tinge to it. The spots seem to be square (inch by an inch) and evenly spaced out. The spots are only visable in sunlight. Does anyone know what causes this? Is it normal? Can it be cleaned?

i think that its the tint effect but i can't
be sure...i've noticed it too =]

Me too, seen it from time to time on mine, I don't know what causes it though...

If you wear polarized sunglasses, you can see the effect on many different cars. I always assumed it has something to do with the UV protection in the glass.

I guess my point is it really looks ugly and wondered if this would be something covered under my Cert. series warranty.

it can be cleaned there is a bulliten at the dealer that tells you what to clean it with i dont recall what to use to clean it
