Replace Phone-dock console on M3

My 2003-M3 has a phone-console where the cup-holder normally go - The car actually came with the phone which I do not want.

Can you order the cup-holder part through BMW Service Center and swap?
- Anyone have a good link on that one?


The car also has tape-deck (yes, i too was confused by that) and 6-disk
- I usually just have my I-Pod and DLO Transpod (fm modulator)

Any idea if I can swap this out with a In-dash CD from BMW

I would like to stick to OEM parts..

Anyone know if there is any harm is simply pulling out the Phone? (Harness connection)

Last but not least...if anyone has any info on raplcing the in-dash Cassette with a CD head unit that would be great (does not appear to be a part one can just order)

no, there is no harm, the phone console comes out with harness and all, and the cupholder just plugs in, just like a plug and play item.

just have to goto the dealer, and order an in-dash cd player, but you have to be sure the the connection on the end of the in-dash unit matched with connector of your car. another plug and play item.

also there is a 400 dollar core on that radio unit.
