I have recently bought a 323iSE with 70k on the clock. The car revs at 1500 at idle and runs very roughly as if something was holding it back.Whenever I floor the accelerator at about 4500 revs the car suddenly shoots forward with no hold back. I have replaced O2 sensors and some hoses but nothing shows up on the computer. Usualyy in the mroning whnever I start the car is Ok for about a mile and then starts missing. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Have you checked your ignition coils? THey said that they were "misfiring"...

That's what caused the rough riding for me until I had them replaced..

If the car is a bit 'bumpy' when it's just idling (i.e. rocking from side to side slightly) but then smooths out once you get going it's probably the coils alright....at least that's what the mechanic told me!

This happens to me when I've let my car sit for more than a day w/out driving it.
Today it'd been about 6 days with no driving and when I started it the engine revved up normally then stalled. I started it again and it held idle, but was very rough for about 30 seconds until it warmed up a bit. Ran fine all night tonight but definately raised a concern in my mind...
