Rubber/plastic seals around windows

I fell in love with a car I looked at this weekend, but it had 2 flaws. First, the hood had 3 dings in it, but those are easily repaired I'm told. Second, and the more major, is that the rubber and plastic around the windows all around the car are cracked/deteriorated pretty badly. The owner said he's never had any leak problems (but of course he'll say that). The black plastic around the side windows has spots that look almost mildew-ish, and the rubber seals on the bottom of the side and back windows are cracked, but still there. If I get this car I will definately have to have all the seals replaced, if just for cosmetic appearance.

My question- has anyone done this, and how much did it cost?

thanks for any help!
Mike

the rear window seals are under 30 from a bmw retail parts dealer. i bought one when i got my car. the door ones i don't know. but i'm pretty sure you're looking to spend near 100 bucks for these seals. if anything,... atleast get the rear window seals because the rear tends to leak first, so i heard...

I've had problems with ruber cracking around the door handles and in the corners of rear window. A few rubber treatment products I tried condition the rubber but don't fix the cracks (the bonus is that awesome rubbery scent in the car when windows are down - that everybody asks if the rat has died somewhere in the car or smth) [rolleyes]. I went over to Home Depot and bought some black silicone window sealer (7$). With proper application, door handle seals don't look cracked anymore. Be careful on the chemicals you choose though - some tend to crack the rubber in long term.
