Selling my E36 325i

Since I got the NSX, the role of my daily driver has changed and the BMW is being replaced by a 2004 Acura TL 6spd.

I came very close to getting a 540i or E36 M3, but went for the comfort, features, and front wheel drive for winter. Don't get me wrong, the 325i does fine with the snows, but cars like the 540i and M3 are not well suited for a Wisconsin winter.

I won't be going anywhere, and with any luck I will get the old M-car I really want in a year or two. Unfortunately, I can't drive an E28 or E34 M5 year round as my daily driver, so one makes a compromise. (Since the TL is a well-balanced 270 hp FWD sedan with a great gearbox and no torque steer, don't feel too sorry for me.)

I'll still be around to drop the knowledge from time to time.

I suppose the 325i will appear on my sig with (sold) at the end.

As for the racing, the TL should be a high 5 second car to sixty, so I should be safe from most BMWs, at least in a straight line. 540s, M3s, M5s, etc., will give me trouble, but I don't expect to do a lot of stoplight or highway 'racing' with the TL. I'll be too busy playing with the Voice activated Nav system, Bluetooth handsfree system, DVD Audio surround system, XM satellite radio . . .

Now, how about somebody from the community stepping up to the plate for a nice, higher mileage but tastefully modified and well maintained E36? [:D]

Those new TL's are very nice. Post some pictures of your new car.[thumb]
Yes. Thank god they brought back the 6spd since it disappeared after the 1995 model year (in the Legend, which is the predecessor to the TL and RL).

I pick her up tonight, so it will be a little while before I can post some pics, as I have to have the film developed and put into electronic format first. If I remember, I will get some film and bring the camera. The car is Anthracite/Ebony, with faux carbon fiber trim that is very restrained and realistic looking. The bi-xenons are a huge plus for me.

My insurance is dropping considerably, only because an old ticket finally fell off and I am no longer considered to be evil. The TL should cost about what I was paying for the BMW (around $100/month) and the NSX is going to drop from $75/month to around $40/month. (Gotta love those 2nd car rates!)

Wadula, you would be crazy to sell the Avus Blue 3-series, unless you found another Avus. I love that color. Look for me in an Avus E36 M3 or E34 M5 (very rare, perhaps 10-15 in the US total!) in a year or two.

That's why its called an asking price. Make me an offer.

I'm looking for someone that values the extras that the car has. Two sets of rims with good winter and summer tires. A $1000 stainless steel exhaust system. A $1200 stereo system. About $500 in suspension modifications. Drilled rotors and two sets of pads. Those Mintex pads were $390 wholesale for the set, and have many driving schools ahead of them.

The longer the car sits, the lower I will go.

New lower price of $6800/obo.

Found one yet EPJ3?

I know you would like one that has been garaged. [rofl]
I would love it, but the only way I would be able to buy it from you is if i payed you like $300 a month...but you arent a bank.

No, I am not.

I am an attorney with a Home Equity Line of Credity, however, which means I can (and have) paid off the note on the BMW.

If I haven't sold the car in a few months and I get desparate, I'll look into the potential for just that kind of an arrangement. I would remain a lienholder on the title and on the insurance policy.

If you assume the total cost with finance charge is $8000 (just a guess), $300 a month will pay it off in a little over two years.

brahtw8, feed us pictures of the new TL in General Car Chat or something. Congrats on the car. [:D]
I haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't have a digital camera, so I have to buy film and get a CD from Walgreen's. One of these days I will get that digi, but car payments are approximately $1420/month right now, so a digi is not an immediate reality. ($600 NSX, $570 TL Lease, $250 BMW loan, or $150 if you count the HELC payment at 60 mos.)

I make bank, but not enough bank to laugh at $1420 in car payments. I do laugh when I think my mortgage is half of my car expenses . . .
