I'd like to add a subwoofer to my 325xi wagon. It has the stock Alpine head unit, no CD changer or nav, no XM. (I did add an Ipod jack)

Is there an Alpine subwoofer/amp I could buy that 'plugs in' to the BMW wiring harness where the CD changer compartment is?

Anyone made any 'minor' upgrades to improve the sound?

Thanks in advance-

I just added an Eclipse 12" sub to my 325i. Bought a sub enclosure, mounted the sub and put it in the trunk, added a Rockford Fosgate amp, tapped off the battery for power. Grabbed the signal from the rear deck mounted speakers for the amp. Sounds excellent!

jbl bp300.1, and a 12" JL w0. thats the cheapest setup thats worth its money. sounds awesome actually, for $300.

get an amp wiring kit. 8 guage is fine for that amp. it'll have the power and ground and rca's and remote turn on wire. unfortunetly you cant use that wire for the changer, its not comaptible with anything.

with a sub, you usually dont get much noise. especially off the battery. the only place you might get noise is from the ground, so grind downt the paint to bare metal, and that will give you a good ground. dont worry about noise.
